Nursery rhyme, clock, mouse and ticks. Oh my! What do they all have in common. The ticking of a clock has nothing to do with ticks. However, it has been a winter with very little snow and that is the kind of winter which usually precedes a bountiful season for ticks. In that respect, it is timely for an article about ticks and how to find some good information. Over the years, I have seen many articles on ticks but the one I am sharing is the most informative I have seen.

The Streak II running shoes by Pearl Izumi came today and I was sad to say that they were too small for me. I didn’t see on the website where it’s stated that the race last in the shoe makes the shoe a half size smaller than Pearl Izumi’s standard shoe, so plan accordingly. I am normally a 9.5 in all my running shoes, but I had to go up to a 10 for these shoes. They come in four awesome colors and are reasonably priced for a great pair of running shoes MSRP $110. My initial impression of the shoes was positive besides the fit and I was quite excited to try them out.

I’ve used the Discover GPS in the gym, on the trail running, hiking, and even road biking over the past month. I’ve learned a few new things about the watch since my last update and have made some final overall conclusions about the watch and all of my experiences with it. Click here to and scroll to the bottom of the page to see my final update of the Tech4O Discover GPS watch.

During the past month the Road ID/Wrist ID Slim has been worn while mountain and road biking. I also wore it on a walk while visiting Kentucky. While in Kentucky we had tornado warnings and I realized that the Road ID would be great to have on hand all the time as there are many times I am out shopping, going on short neighborhood walks, or visiting away from home and I don’t have identification on myself.

Thinsulate Thermal Insoles in my trail runners
I have been using these insoles in my New Balance trail runners. I have no idea the exact mileage but I’ve worn them day hiking and bike riding mostly, but have worn them on several other occasions. I know I have worn them at least an average of three days a week and often all day. I’ll be the first to admit, thinking of something useful to say about a product like this is difficult. They were very comfortable, but still, you put them in a pair of shoes and there is really not that much difference in how the shoe feels before or after, unless the old insoles were worn out. I guess the fact that most of the time I did not even think about them when wearing them is a good thing. To read the rest of the update along with the entire review please click here.

bamboo poles
Since I have been using my homemade poles for about 6 months, I have decided to give you an update. These poles are about half the weight of my store bought poles yet they don’t feel that light. I guess I was expecting to feel more of a difference. I started looking for an explanation. This lead me to thinking about the center of gravity for the poles. To read more.
